It’s week 6 Furnessians, you know what that means? 4 weeks until SUMMER! Also, one week until Love Island – you don’t care? Lies. Here’s what’s going on this week…
Extrav!Okay, elephant in the room – after a long countdown, we are proud to present this years Extrav theme: Lost College! Inspired by the Lost Village festival in Lincolnshire, we will be transforming Furness into the wilderness on the 28th June, ready to celebrate the end of the year whimsical style! For more info, check out the event page here. #GetLost
On a much calmer note, we thought we’d bring you some well-deserved relaxation this term, and so we welcome you to our Mountain Retreat Spa, this Tuesday in the TV room (6pm-8pm). Get ready to be pampered with face masks and manicures, treat yourself to platters of fresh fruit and herbal tea, and calm yourself with some instructed yoga. You’ve earned it!
Spot the Winrow!
This weeks quiz might be quite close to home for some of you, as the specialist topic is…Wigan! Bring your friends, and some snacks (maybe a pie?) for a great night. This Wednesday, 7:30pm, £1 a head to play.
Do Good in the Wood
Want to do your bit for nature? A reminder that The Student Union’s Internationalisation and Community Team are organizing College Volunteering Away Days this term. Join Furness on a trip to the YMCA Pattersdale Estate in Cumbria on June 17 for some habitat conservation! Online applications are open now and close on 1st June.
Ingleton Waterfalls Trip
Also a reminder of the trip to the Ingleton Waterfalls on Saturday 2nd June. You will be leaving campus at 9.30am. Entry to the waterfalls is £6, to be paid on site, but if you would like to reserve a seat on the minibus, please email Lorna at firstname.lastname@example.org
And that’s it for this time, folks! Hope you all have a great, stress-free week. See you next time!
