Bev’s Hills – Week 5

Just found the worst page in the entire dictionary. What I saw was disgraceful, disgusting, dishonest, and disingenuous.

Morning Furness! It’s week five, which means that we’re halfway through Michaelmas term (yikes) but it also means it’s 15 Hour week (yay)!

15 Hour Bar Crawl

So on Friday, we annouced that the theme of this term’s 15 Hour is going to be Pokemon! The 15 Hour is taking place this Saturday (7th November) and begins at 11am in Trev. This is the crowning jewel of the Furnessian social calendar, you don’t want to miss it, trust us.

Yaaaaaaasssss

Ticket Sales

Tickets for the 15 Hour will go on sale this Wednesday at 2pm in Trev. Tickets are £6 each (includes t-shirt, entry to Sugar and all the drinks deals available). Due to the huge demand for 15 Hour tickets, there is a maximum of 4 tickets per person.

The panic to get 15 Hour tickets…

Jam-in-Furness

This Friday, Jam-in-Furness returns! Come down to Trev for a nice chilled evening of live music in the company of Paul Palmer and his jazz band. If you are interesting in playing, contact us by messaging the Furness Facebook page or email Bev on [email protected].

JCR Elections – Key Dates

On Monday of week six, we’re holding our termly General Meeting, which is a great way to see how college democracy works in action if you’re interested in that kinda thing. Linked to this, there will be a chance to mingle with current JCR members at the end to ask them any questions you may have about their position or what they do. Check out the facebook event here.

Nominations for JCR positions open on Monday of week seven and close on Friday of the same week.

Hustings will take place on Tuesday of week eight and results will be on Friday of week eight.

Carter Shield

The Carter Shield (the university’s inter-college sports tournament) kicks back into action this Sunday (8th November) and what better way to work off your hangover from the 15 Hour but by throwing dodgeballs at all the other colleges including Cartmel! It’s for everyone, so come on down and let’s start the year with a win for Furness! Make sure to give the facebook page a like to keep up to date with all the Carter Shield goings on.

FurCAT

Just a reminder that you can contact the Furness welfare team at any time you need to, via the email address [email protected].

Back to Basics

Many thanks to all those who came down to our Back to Basics event last Friday, we hope you get some use out of the free stuff we were handing out!

That’s everything just for now Furness, have a great week and see you on Saturday at the 15 Hour! #HYPE
