Nominations are now open for the positions of Sports Officer (x2) and Social and Events Officer, with hustings on the 8th of June. Feel free to message the beautiful Amanda, Mossy or Jaz if you’re feeling unsure about whether to run or not. (But you definitely should!) They’d be more than happy to answer any questions or queries.
All of the CCO positions will be being elected at the same time, with hustings on Monday 9th June.
General Meeting
This evening at 6:30pm in the Biology LT we are holding a general meeting where some serious democracy is going down. We’ll be discussing some stuff which will have an impact on your time in Furness, so come and have your voice heard. Oh, and there’s free pizza! Find the Facebook event here.
Trevaoke
We’re really excited about this… Thursday, Week 9. Time TBC. It’s widely understood that Furness college attracts some serious vocal talent. If you think you’ve got the vocal range of a buzzard, or a Freddie Mercury-like falsetto or perhaps the lung capacity of a young Pavarotti – this is the night for you. More details to come very soon…
Canal Cruise
There are very few tickets still remaining for our summer canal cruise. If you’d like one, get in touch with Bev or a member of the JCR and we can arrange one for you. First come, first served. Get in there early to avoid disappointment. It’s going to be a great night out.
Carter Shield – Rounders
It was a scorching hot one on Sunday at the Tag Rugby. Hopefully next Sunday will be the same. The name of the game is Rounders. As usual, the more the merrier! No experience required. It’s just a proper good laugh! Click here to find the event.
When Worlds Collide – Furness Extrav 2014
We were delighted to announce our Extrav theme last week and the response has been immense. It’s quite simply going to be the biggest night of the year. Four worlds come together as one for the ultimate Extrav. We’ve got some amazing acts lined up, as well as a few surprises up our sleeve… hrjgggngjreglwkkhnfcrh I can’t wait.
IMPORTANT BIT: Tickets go on sale on Saturday at 11am. Furness students will get priority on Furness tickets, but be ready at 11am. We don’t want any Furnessians missing out. We’re expecting to be popular, so do consult the LUSU website to check how ticket buying works. Be on the lookout for the posters around campus with loads of costume ideas!
