Bev’s Hills – Week 18

Have you ever tried to eat a clock? It’s very time consuming.

Anywhoo! Lots going on this week, but let’s get the ball rolling with what I’m sure you already know by now… WE WON PATRIOTS’! The trophy has come home after a weekend filled with drama, excitement and sporting excellence. We’ll have a more in depth run through of the highlights in our next edition of ‘Furst’, but on behalf of the Sports Officers and the rest of the JCR, we’d like to thank everyone who made this possible including organisers and those who took part. It was a magnificent collective Furness College effort and one that will surely go down in the history books.

Action for Happiness

The week long campaign is back for a second year. Each day we’ll be setting you Happiness challenges to help you spread the love. If you complete all the challenges, you’ll get a ticket for free entry into Sugar on Friday night. Can’t say fairer than that? We’ll have a marquee in Alex Square everyday between 12-2pm. Make sure to join the event on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for updates.

If you’d like to play, please contact Bev via email, or leave a comment on the Facebook event and we’ll get in touch for you. It promises to be a top night, so don’t miss out.

Freshers’ Rep Meeting

On Tuesday we have a very important meeting for those who want to be a Freshers Rep next year. You’ll be given a full run through of what exactly the position will entail and the application process. It’s pretty much essential! It really is an incredibly valuable and rewarding experience. Click below to join the event or for more info.

General Meeting and Hustings

We will be holding a general meeting on Monday of week 8 at 6.30PM in the biology LT (across the spine from Trev/Furness Porters). Here we will discussing exciting things like changes to the bye-law, so come along to have your say! Immediately afterwards, we will be holding a mini-hustings for the position of Media and Comms officer on our JCR Exec. Here you will have the chance to ask question the candidates and hear why you should vote for them. So come along, bring yourself, bring your friends, maybe even bring a cheeky pint if you like, and experience democracy in action!

And that’s it for this week! Have a good week y’all.
