15 Hour Bar Crawl

SAVE THE DATE: The second 15 Hour Bar Crawl has been announced and is rapidly approaching! On Saturday, February 16th we will be once again trekking around Lancaster in search of the best drinks deals, so keep an eye on the Facebook event for more details including the all-important THEME RELEASE and of course ticket sales and prices! Self-Love and Self-Care Night

Don’t get lost in the fog of Valentine’s Day… this year, Furness invites you to join us in taking the time to love yourself as well as others.

Pop down to the TV Room on Tuesday, February 12th, for just that.. an evening of self-care with face masks and fruit for a nice, relaxed mid-week break. Click ‘going’ on the event, here, for more updates.

Suggestion Box

The end of Week 14 will see the implementation of a Suggestions Box in the Furness Mailroom. This box is for suggestions for the JCR,  any ideas for events or event themes and NON-URGENT* welfare matters.

*If you have any urgent welfare issues or concerns, please contact the Furness Porters, the FurCAT Team, or your Welfare Reps.

Sports

Last week’s sports we saw the Men’s Pool A Team win 5-4, and Bs won 7-2. Men’s As Darts lost 6-3 and Men’s Bs Darts won 9-0. Women’s Pool won 6-3, and Women’s Darts won 5-2. Dominoes won 2-1. Table Tennis won 17-6. All against Lonnie!! Meanwhile… Football As and Netball were cancelled due to poor weather.

Monday: Bar Sports 7pm against County, Netball Bs play Grad at 8pm, Netball As play Grad at 9pm

Tuesday: Bar Sports 7pm against County, Netball As play Fylde at 7pm

Wednesday: Netball Bs play Fylde at 3pm

Thursday: Netball Trev’s Army vs It’s Getting Hog in Here (GZ) at 8pm

Friday: Netball’s Mighty Mountains play the Enchantresses (Pendle) at 7pm

Bailrigg FM Request Hour

Bailrigg FM are offering the students of Furness a request hour every SUNDAY at 4pm!

Earn a £10 Amazon Voucher for taking part in a 90-minute focus group on your experience of Lancaster University

The University and Lancaster University Students’ Union would like to hear from a range of different UK undergraduate student groups:

•           LGBTQ+ students
•           Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic students
•           Students from a BTEC background
•           Disabled students
•           Care experienced students
•           White males from low socio-economic backgrounds (typically in receipt of a bursary)
•           Mature students

The Focus Group will be held on Wednesday 6th February 2019.  To register your interest, please email outreach@lancaster.ac.uk and confirm your availability for the 6th February focus group and that you are a UK undergraduate student.

Looking for housemates to live with 2019/20?

Why not come along to a Housing Workshop run by the Transitions Team on Tuesday 5thFebruary, 12.00pm until 1.30pm in Fylde Common Room. The workshop is an opportunity to meet other students who are looking to live off campus next academic year and find people who have similar interests and expectations of shared living. At the workshop, there will also be a short presentation from Lancaster University Homes. Places are limited so to book please email transitions@lancaster.ac.uk
